  • Susan kish

    music director

Susan Kish came to Tomahawk in July 2014. She is perhaps best known in our community for her prior role as choral director at Manchester High School, where she taught for 32 years and grew the choral program from 60 students in her first year to its all time high of over 400 singers in 11 choirs. Growing up in Lynchburg at a large Disciples of Christ church, she was playing the organ by the age of 15 and studied sacred music and hymnody as part of her major in organ performance and music ed at Lynchburg College. Today she loves sharing the great hymns and choral music of the church at Tomahawk and directs the Sanctuary Choir, Handbell Choir, and Praise Team. Susan is married to Rick, and has three daughters and sons in law, four stepsons, and six grandchildren five and under!

  • JAMES COLEMAN

    Youth Pastor

James is the newest member of our team, but has years of experience in ministry already, having grown up as a pastor's kid! Already in his second year at Baptist Theological Seminary, James is pursuing his Master of Divinity degree with a specialty in youth. His undergrad is from Lynchburg College, where he also served as a Student Ambassador, Residential Assistant, and as a leader in Delta Sigma Pi.  James joins us following a summer with Passport Camps where he ministered to students across multiple states.

  • Niki mason

    Office administrator

Niki is the woman who holds down the front office while supporting the TBC community. Before coming to TBC, Niki helped churches secure loans. Prior to that, she was in the project management field in insurance, IT, construction, and wireless. She bleeds orange and maroon (i.e. she's a Virginia Tech grad) who can't stand to finish a book without having the next one handy. She uses her PMP on both foreign and domestic mission projects, one of her great passions, but also in her home, where she keeps her family on track and moving forward. Southside Church of the Nazarene is where she sings her heart out in the choir, leads a women's Bible study, and has been called to lead a local mission team.
